The Role of AI in Content Creation: Tool or Crutch?
This is a response to several messages I have received over the past several days
Recently, some people in our community have been discussing the use of AI in content creation, particularly whether it’s considered "cheating" to rely on AI to generate content. Some argue that using AI to create content is perfectly acceptable, while others, including myself, see it differently especially if you’re simply copying and pasting AI-generated content without doing your own research. Research is the core of integrity in our community.
Let’s be clear, AI is a powerful tool that aggregates information available on the internet and presents it in a concise format. However, this does not mean that the information provided by AI is always accurate or complete. AI can only provide a snapshot of what’s out there, not a definitive truth. This is why there’s ongoing debate about the use of AI and its role in content creation.
Facebook, for example, now requires users to disclose when content is generated by AI to protect against the spread of misinformation. The reason for this is simple: as a collective, we have yet to develop a system that guarantees the production of only truthful content. This uncertainty around what is “true” and who gets to decide that truth is at the heart of many debates surrounding AI. This is exactly why schools, universities, and medical community cannot use this tool as of right now, until the debates are worked out,
Using AI to assist with grammar, spelling, or to refine content that you’ve already written is a productive way to leverage this technology. In this context, AI serves as a tool to enhance your work, not as a substitute for your creativity or effort. On the other hand, if you ask AI a question and take its answer as the final word without doing any additional research, you’re not truly creating content you’re just replicating what AI provides, this is misleading therefore compromises the integrity of any content you create. Only those who want to misuse it will argue this point. It is just the NEW technical way of plagiarism of this era.
There’s been some concern within our community about individuals who claim they’re using AI as a tool when, in reality, they’re relying on it entirely to produce content. This approach is misleading and fails to acknowledge how AI works and its ongoing development. Just as it’s essential to “practice what you preach,” as highlighted in spiritual teachings, and they will say "I don't have to practice what I teach" it’s crucial to understand the tools you’re using and use them responsibly.
When you’re working with spirit, the creation process is deeply personal and guided. Spirit works through you to manifest something unique, not through AI. While AI is an incredible resource for refining and editing, it is not a one-stop solution for content creation. The technology is still evolving, and many issues remain unresolved. People that use it must use it responsibly as everything is tracked and misuse could result in consequences later on down the road.
AI should be seen as an aid in the creative process, not as a replacement for it. To simply ask AI a question and accept the answer without further investigation is to undermine the integrity of your work. Use AI to support your creativity, but remember that true content creation comes from within you, guided by your own insights, research, and spirit. I hope this cleared up any misinformation people are spreading as a gaslighting maneuver to side step their personal reasonability in using this tool. As with anything balance with the use of being responsible and stepping in integrity will win every time.
